It's a 3 step process as follows:
The clear plastic cover on the front of the unit is broken and needs to be replaced, which brings me to the next question: Can I get the part from Honda ? Their service guy told me that the cover is not replaceable and that I'd need an entire new radio ! ! ! This, I find almost impossible to believe. Hope I'm right ! !

Clarion suppliers the radio for your model. They may or may not be able to help you out. Ask your dealer if they have contact info for the Clarion repair center.Lizzurd:
Question: I am assuming that Honda doesn't actually make the radio, so maybe I can get the manufacturer and model off the unit, then contact them for the part. Of course, if Honda is the manufacturer, I'm finished right here.
If you're interested, I have a perfect conditon '09 LX radio available. To all who gave me advice:
After talking to the local Honda dealer, I was informed that the clear plastic cover is not replaceable. So, I took myself to a local stereo shop for their input and was told the same thing. So it's a new stereo or live with what I have. For what they want for the thing, I'll live with the current setup.
Thanks again to all of you.

I would love to know if there was a way to remove the empty try slot and not the entire radio unit. Is there a way to do this without disassembling everything as stated?

Hi everyone - the digital screen on the stereo in my 2008 CRV cracked and it sounds like I'm in the same position as AL. Is that the case or is that replaceable? Appreciate any advice you can share! To all who gave me advice:
