Rear hatch - DIY Power lock install ???

We plan to obtain my wife's new (new to us) 2014 CRV EX-L in 1-2 weeks. During her test drive, she didn't notice if its rear hatch door is only manual or also has power lock system. U-Tubes videos keep showing a manual rear hatch door on 2014 models. My wife likes Power Lock (unlock) rear hatch door. If needed, I need to install a custom power lock (unlock) system - like shown on 2015+ models under her "keep wife happy" rule. LOL.

If needed, did you guys install a power unlock system on your 2014 CR-Vs rear hatch door? If yes, do share your secrets.

Perhaps a simply universal 12Volt power door lock cylinder (??)

thanks.

If your getting the EX-L it's definitely not manual. And if the doors have power locks so does the hatch.

What your asking about it's locks, it's the latch. Again EX-L would have it if it was available.

Finally if your asking about the door opening and closing with power, ya good luck if it's not equipped your not going to be able to add it.

Thanks for your feedback....

Unknown to some folks, the 2015 CRV EX-L AWD vehicle has 3 different ways to unlock its rear hatch door. re: From the door's physical handle, from its key fob and from a button / located by its steering wheel area. As per online U-Tube review, the 2014 EX-L (fully loaded) vehicle only has 1 method to unlock its rear hatch door. Yes, only one method - which seems so "old method" to me. To validate my findings, surf: _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjpbd6tx7To and focus on the video's 2:32+ minutes clip.

Think I will let my wife unlock the rear hatch manually using its rear physical handle. And if she wants, I'll buy / install a manual button and universal power truck unlocking system. Like all things in life, I got a Plan A and Plan B for this area as well...
On a 2014 you can lock or unlock the tailgate 3 ways.

1 Key turn in drivers door
2 Drivers door locks on door panel
3 Key FOB

There is only one way to open tailgate and that is the button at the tailgate.

You should download the complete manual from Honda web site. And also the Nav manual and also the Technology Reference guide. All for free. There is plenty to read and will help you learn about all the bells and whistles.
