I've taken the crv out today with the trailer on and it was fine but now I've taken it off I've noticed the rear lights are not working , the brake lights and fog light are both working but I have no rear lights which is dangerous to say the least
Any help please guys.

Do you think it's possibly a bad fuse? Check your fuse box to see if the rear light fuse has blown (I have no idea which fuse this will be though...sorry).

Try this: Disconnect the trailer harness. Have to eliminate that as a potential cause.

^^ X2. Trailer harnesses have caused many similar issues (across all makes, not just Hondas).

Sometimes it is just the light bulbs. Many times if only one is burned out, it is not noticed until the other burns out.
Easy to check. If not. most likely a harness problem like the others have suggested.
BTW: it is a 2007 AWD MT

This happened to me as well. The lights didn't work on auto. It was a bad fuse. I couldn't see it on the fuse, it looked OK, but when i changed it everything was good.
