Can anyone make a recommendation on a place to get good roof rails/racks for a 2013 CR-V EX, without paying dealer prices? Prefer to have rails with crossbars as opposed to just crossbars or just rails. I mostly just see the crossbars online though. Have searched through some of the threads but not finding much recent info.

Would it be necessary to get the OEM side rails and have those installed first?

TIA

It's not necessary to have the side rails installed. Yakima and Thule have set ups that don't need the OEM side rails.

Just get a hitch from Amazon for $100, they are so easy to install. Then you can get a bike rack, storage rack, etc... AND it tilts down so you can still open the tailgate.

I've looked on eBay, problem is they make "plastic" oem knock offs, I'm not willing to trust my loaf on plastic crap.

There's some other aftermarket ones, but I asked the seller for instructions so I could gauge the product. Everything was Chinarfic and looked fairly unsecured post-installation.

The OEM ones can be bought for about 400+ on Amazon.
