I was considering buying a 2011 cr-v , and I wanted to know wheterh the factory roof rack would be able to handle teh sears 20 cargo carrier that we used from our last car. if it would not support such a carrier, what carrier do you V owners recommend ?

I see that there is a short roof box on the accessory web site . it is 13 cu ft. the sears is 20 cu ft, something that we really need.

also,

We have a bike carrier (5) that requires a 2 inch recvr hitch. The accessory web page is unclear in its description about the number of inches of the diag. of the sqaure recvr.. also, it refers to the 'towing package'. i am not sure what that is - i did not see a towing pkg listed as an option, but I may have missed it. if someone can clarify this , that wd be nice.

thanks. I looked at your picture - very informative. did you buy the honda factory roof rack? did the dealer put it on?

ALso, what is your driving experience w/ your V loaded down w/ 4 bikes and 15 cubic feet of stuff upstairs and presumably 4 people in the cabin?

How does the V drive and does it accelerate adequately when so weighed down?

do you have some sort of towing packed installed? I saw a ref on the accessories site about that , but I have not seen such a package being sold.
