It is a soft plastic dust shield.. and as such.. should only ever be gently cleaned with water and a very soft cloth... maybe a bit of soap in the water just to cut through any deposits of outgassed vapors that collect on it.

The screen can be polished with appropriate kits for soft plastics if the scratches are not too deep ... and it can also be replaced. A few owners here have done both.

Note: under bright light.. like sunlight striking the screen... every screen will show micro scratches... nature of the beast.
