Service schedule and Honda Care vehicle service contract

Hi

I bought the 2-year Honda Care Vehicle Service Contract, based on my dealer telling me Honda required services every 6 months.

1) Is there anywhere I can get the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule? The owner's guide just says do whatever maintenance minder says, Honda head office told me the same.

2) I was told the service contract would cover all scheduled services. I finally received the paperwork just now, and it seems to only cover fluids, filters, and tire rotation. Is there anything else you usually need in the first few years that this doesn't cover?

Thanks!

Subscribed (because our daughter bought a HondaCare warranty on her new HR-V).

I assume this 'Service Contract' differs from the commonly-purchased 8 year/120K mile warranty on defective parts? Hers doesn't include maintenance items (like BRAKES). Does yours?

(PS: Dad usually does her maintenance...) :wrenchin:
This has been discussed before. The Maintenance Minder is key. If you ask, the dealer will give you a schedule of maintenance, but I noticed it was for cars before the Maintenance Minder. Now I follow the MM.

Yep, it's for scheduled servicing, not a warranty. Both of the products' names start with Honda Care, but they're different things.
Now that we have the definition of the plan out of the way....:applause:

What is your projected yearly mileage?

If you drive 15K miles a year you will probably require 3 oil changes via the MM. In those 30K miles you should need a read diff fluid change (if 4WD) via the MM. I don't think that the CVT fluid comes up on the MM within 45 K miles (but see if they will do it at your request). The other services like engine and cabin filters probably won't come up via the MM...

If the service plan gets it done by time (not the MM or mileage) that's FOUR oil changes.
