Has Oil-Gas problem been fixed for 2019 CRV's ??? What about "Dead Battery" Issue ? I like this Car, but

with all these defects, yikes. I can't believe "EXPERTS" are still rating this Car #1 or 2.

Very simply stated:

People with problems are far more vocal than those without any. This forum is far from a good place to base decisions like that off of alone.

But at the same time if terribly concerned about those possible issues why consider buying one?

The CRV issues are to those with turbo engines. If the 2019 still offers the 2.4L then you'll be fine.

i think you should, your 4th post here is already complaining about oil dilution and you haven't bought the truck yet & also don’t trust tons of reports recommending it.

So you’ll fit in here fine.
Forum tend to have more people that are unhappy with their cars then people who enjoy them. Every brand has their problems, so just buy them car you like.
I only saw the 2.4l Turbo offered on the LX. Choice of about six Colors. Only Option was AWD. Am

I missing something ?

This will not be an in-depth review of my 2019 Honda CR-V EX L. It would take up too much space. It was purchased 2-14-19. Currently it has a whopping 164 miles on it. It’s been a lovely lawn ornament. I had/have? the dead battery issue. The first time I went to drive it the battery was dead. I had to call AAA and HRA that day for jumpstarts. It went dead twice in one day even though the battery was tested as fine... Missed a very important appointment because of this issue!

Finally, I just got the software update today 4-17-19. So now I’m waiting to see if I lose all power while driving on the Interstate at 65-70 mph. That has happened to several owners soon after their software updates. Praying that doesn’t happen to me and that I don’t get the gas & oil issue too! What’s this I’m hearing about a heat problem now? OMG!

I was a loyal Toyota RAV4 owner. Had my last one 12 years. And only had one battery problem, the 11th year, when it finally died and it was just time for a new battery! I admit I was getting a little bored with the same model car after 20 years so thought it was time to try something different. After researching I found that the Honda CR-V was rated #1 for Best SUV? and that really swayed my decision a lot. Big mistake there! Thought I was upgrading but instead actually downgraded and one more repair visit for the battery and this will be an official lemon. It’s very upsetting because it’s a very nice looking car, drives well, is quite comfortable but it has been seriously unreliable... I’m hoping the software fix works but I think I will always still be wary of it...sad to say.

This is a highly volatile subject on the forum. There are very strong opinions on both sides. Your best bet is to search through it and make your own decision.
Short answer...No don't buy a 2019.

I have been a long time fan of Honda both for cars and motorcycles but the reported issues regarding the last generation of CR-V's is not acceptable. It may be impacting a relatively limited number of vehicles but Honda can do better than this. My daughter is in the market now for a similar vehicle and she really likes the 2016 EX-L that we have. I have told her that if she is looking for a new vehicle to not consider the CR-V.
We just purchased a 2019 CRV EX AWD with the 1.5 Turbo. Everything operates perfectly and we love this car. We traded our beloved 2012 Camry EXL as we wanted an AWD vehicle (Vermont), crossed our fingers in hopes that it would be as good as the Camry - it's better! Had a bit of hard time getting the Apple CarPlay to work but one return to the dealer to reset the system, found an Apple cord that worked and it's great. We've taken two 750 mile trips with no hiccups at all. Quiet, smooth, super comfortable, gas mileage 23 around town (at the lowest - often 25 - 27) up to 34 on trips. I checked the oil today, held my breath, perfect. This is a great vehicle. Active noise cancellation works, ergonomics are wonderful, safety features work perfectly! Read the Car & Driver issue comparing small SUVs.
