how can radar sensors be cleaned my smart cruise control shut down while traveling in snowy weather? I have 2018 CRV.

If snow gets on the plastic panel below the H in your grill the radar is obstructed. Pull over and clean it or ignore the issue.

I live in the mountains in Montana and have occasionally had this occur on our '18 CRV and our old '16 Pilot.

It's no big deal after it happens a few times...just drive your CRV like you did with your previous vehicle that did not have driver assists...

And if the snow in the air is heavy enough, no amount of cleaning will help...the radar simply won't be able to function. I've found that it doesn't have to be white-out conditions. With wet snow, even moderate amounts will block it. And if the radar isn't working reliably, you don't WANT ACC to be on.

If it's snowing out, you really don't want to be using ACC anyway, as it will not maintain following distance near long-enough for slick conditions.
