Hi folks,
I am comparing the soft cover under the car of CRV 2017 Touring FWD vs AWD.

The CRV 2017 Touring FWD that I saw in the dealer has 3 parts: left, middle and right cover (see photos: http://imgur.com/6DmtHfm http://imgur.com/s4EDery ). However, my CRV 2017 Touring AWD only have 2 parts: left and right, and the middle part is exposed.

Is this expected?

Thanks.

Under-car rug-like in CRV 2017 Touring FWD vs AWD

Hi folks,
I am comparing the under-car rug-like cover under CRV 2017 Touring FWD vs AWD.

The CRV 2017 Touring FWD that I saw in the dealership has 3 panels: left, middle and right cover, covering most part of the pipes in the middle. See photos:

However, my CRV 2017 Touring AWD only have 2 parts: left and right, and the middle part showing pipes from front all the way to back is exposed. See photos:

For 2017 Touring AWD owner, can you help looking at yours if this is normal?

Thanks.

Hi, these soft covers - are they just for noise reduction only correct? Not for any type of rust protection - if you were to get rust sprayed or get an undercoat applied, they would have to be removed first yes? How long do you think these will last on the bottom of your car after a couple of winters and salt and slush??

15, maybe 20 minutes.

Is this perhaps because of the extra heat created by the AWD system and/or clearance height? Interesting nonetheless.

They are for sound only. Don't know how long they will last, but the same stuff are on the rear wheel wells on my 2014 and so far so good, no damage. My long term concern would be their ability to trap road salt against the metal body accelerating rusting.
If you were to under coat for rust, definitely have them removed first, if they were not removed it would be a major rust generator.
