Been lurking for a bit, landing here from google results during the quest for information. Really enjoy my Comfortable Runabout Vehicle so I'll be frequenting more often. Got a 2003 UK manufactured EX AWD Side SRS, retired the 6 disc though...coming up on 208,000 miles. Thing runs great. :knocks on wood

Things I'm looking for include but are not limited to torque specs, service manuals, discontinued accessories, etc.

This week I'll be replacing the VTEC solenoid with a new OEM part. It is leaking oil and with 208k, I think it's a good idea to replace the entire assembly with a new one if I'm gonna get in there and take it out. Looking at videos on YouTube, the gasket gets nice and flat and I've concluded that is the cause of the leak.

Welcome to the forum MochaJoe! Glad to have you aboard! Are you in UK? It's good that you're enjoying your ride. Is the VTEC solenoid giving you a problem? If its not giving you a problem. I would suggest to leave it. There should a strainer there. Be sure you also clean it up.
I'm in the US. The misses got the CRV about 5 years ago, and just got a new car so I adopted the Comfortable Runabout Vehicle for myself. I'm beginning to think that this is a UK based forum? I'm not seeing an engine code, and I hardly rev over 3k rpm but the leaking oil really gets to me every 3k miles when I change the oil. Plus it's saturating everything beneath it. I'm a diesel tech and those types of problems need to be fixed, and fixed correctly. Leaks mean less pressure, less pressure means oil isn't getting where it needs to. Almost everything is original save for struts and brakes and other maintenance items, and like I said if I'm going to take the part off, I might as well replace the unit rather than the gasket itself. As for the strainer in front, I'll leave that be since I don't wanna break off the PS pump, belt, etc etc (according to videos). Unless of course there's and easier way to get to it. Since the spool assembly has 208k on it, I know that the gasket is flat as can be, hence the oil leak. I've got the tools for the job so I'm hoping for an easy swap of the part. Having purchased a new OEM part, I'm not expecting any problems. I'm not a big fan of oil leaks. However advice and input and experiences are more than welcome. I'm really looking forward to hanging around here, and maybe finding some OEM running boards for my '03 although I probably won't go through with it; hard to find and expensive over here.

It's specified on the door tag. Manufactured in the United Kingdom. That model year, and maybe others in the generation, were manufactured in Japan and Great Britain.
