Hello. Well I was hoping to get a 2019 CRV EX model but based on the OD and battery issues, I wonder if it's worth the risk? Is there a site that tells you the number of CRV sales vs the number of cars with these issues and what Honda is really doing to address these issues OR at this point, is it even worth the risk? Thank you

I suggest locking this thread and moving your discussion over to this thread.

The battery issue on the '19s has been addressed and is no longer an issue. I haven't seen a percentage listed of V's with the OD issue; Honda would know best and I don't think they're saying. I bought an '18 Touring and haven't had the OD, but the vehicle is slow to warm up in stop and go driving in cold weather, even after the "fix". I live in an area with relatively mild winters and park in a garage, so not a major issue for me. But I wouldn't want this vehicle if I always had to park outdoors during cold winters.

Keep in mind that a certain percentage of all vehicles have problems. Even if the OD affects 0.1% of CRVs, for every million CRV's that's a thousand vehicles. If the CRV ticks the most boxes for you, as it did for me, lease it or buy it and get an extended warranty. I haven't regretted my decision. The decision is very subjective, and there is no right or wrong answer. My humble opinion. :temptation:

There are too many 'Eeyore's' around all automobile sites.

I live in Montana and we had the coldest winter in 30 years (I know because I recall the last bitter cold winter).

We have a '18 CR-V and have not had the OD issue - though I can towards, the end of an oil change cycle, smell some gasoline on the dipstick. Just switched over to Mobil1 and we'll see how that works.

We had no issues heating the car up either before or after 'the fix' even at -30F.

Here we go again

To the Op here is my suggestion. Don't take advice from strangers on the Internet to decide if spending $34,000 on a product is worthwhile! Instead search through the old posts, go back a page or two, also look for YouTube video reviews from well known companies like Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book or Consumer Report. If you do that you will find all the answers you need.

Good Luck On Your Research
