Hi everyone, probably a very silly question, but I'm struggling to find the answer online. I've a 05 crv, what's the plastic panel on the tailgate for / covering? (On the outside). I've attached a photograph.

In North America that's where the license plate is mounted.

If I had one I would remove it and return it to the way it was designed: move the license plate (get a smaller one first, naturally).
