Hello everyone,

I have a 1998 CRV with error code 6 which I understand is a faulty ECT sensor. The car idles quite high and the check engine light is on.
I also understand that it could be anything from the sensor itself to control or ground wire so I'm looking for a way to isolate the problem.
I read on a forum regarding an entirely different vehicle that a removing the sensor plug and jumpering the two wires is a way to eliminate the wires being a problem. I tried that and that doesn''t work as that actually makes the check engine come on right away (I reset it before putting the jumper).

So is there a way to check or should I just go ahead and replace it.

Thanks

Thanks, so what is the purpose of the CEL flashing a certain pattern when I jumper the wires on the connector? C
