I found a private seller that has a 2002 CR-V with 80K miles. He initially asked for 6,900. The body appears to be in excellent shape and it drives good and the engine sounds good. No leaks, the underside looks pretty good too. No torn CV joint covers. The man says that it was in a front end collision that required replacement of the bumper, left head light, and radiator. He says he would be willing to drop it to 6,400 but I wonder if I can ask for less. Assumptions that can be made: I do intend to have the engine and frame fully inspected because it's worth the cost. I've already looked at the Kelly blue book and prices from as well as prices people are trying to sell them for on autotrader. Any ideas how low I should ask for this would be appreciated.
