I feel this should have a cover and be mounted somewhere under the seat. srs light is always on. Could this also be some sort of level sensor and the car thinks it is on its roof?

Don't know what it is. A guess is maybe a heated seat relay board? It looks like that rust colored plastic snaps into something. Are there any numbers and or descriptions stamped on the wires?

I didn't look but I agree. The seats are heated and those wires are large gauge just for srs. Thanks for your input.

What you might do is remove all four seat bolts, and see if you can lean the seat backwards enough to get a better look underneath. The manual recommends disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery before connecting/disconnecting any of the SRS-related wiring.
