Hi there,

I just purchased my first new to me Honda CRV - she's a 99 engine is sound, and well cared for - about 274k miles on her.

So far the only thing I am having an issue figuring out is why when I turn it off there is a series of 3 beeps (I'm still in the car - the door is just open sometimes) & the key fob battery is dead, and I've got a replacement to get programed.

And then the next morning the battery was dead - It looks old, so I'm planning on replacing it, just trying to put some feelers out to make sure its not the only thing.

I'm usually pretty good with these things, and like I said it's my first Honda - so here I am.

Thanks in advance,

Lynne

First thing, why do you have to program a thob. You pop the dead one open and change the battery, takes 5 seconds.

As for other stuff, Honda is no different than any other car so nothing to worry about there.

The beeps might be from your radio if you have an aftermarket one. My radio beeps when I turn the car off to remind me to remove the faceplate. It's a bit annoying, but after so long, I don't even hear the beeps most of the time.
