I know it's late in the day to be posting this, figure I'd start a post here for our old throwback photos of our old cars, us with our old cars, ect.

Here's me with my 1990.5 Corolla. The .5 is for the half year production, they had to make more because of the insane demand for manual Toyota Corollas for 1990 production.

I had never taken any under the hood shots, which I regret... The car was as follows:

The years 2005-2007. My first car, passed down to me by my aunt, who bought it new, as her first car in 1990.

We all started somewhere =) Enjoy!

Mods:

Honda Civic Intake, turned backwards and the breather tube plugged, with various cone filters attached at different times.

DC Sport 4-2-1 headers, 2.25" exhaust with a cat, resonator and 18" magnaflow muffler.

Mazda Miata rims on 185/65R14 rims. Factory was 175/70R13

Battery relocate to the trunk.

10" Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer

Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp

Sony Xplode head unit

Illuminated shifter, gauges, and a neon strip surrounding the cluster

Ebay racing pedals (haha)

Walnut solid wood rear deck lid with JBL 6.5" speakers

Tints

Stickers

Custom License Plate Surround "Scarps"

Antenna delete

1" drive ratchet, which I still drive around with in my CRV. I call her "Insurance."

Other than my first Honda (CRX) which I posted in an earlier post, this was my first brand new car. A 1986, if I recall the year correctly, Ford Escort GT 5 speed manual. The manual made it fun to drive.

Oh man that's so awesome! Was that the 1.9L Mazda engine, or did it have something bigger because it's a GT?

Okay, here's a real throwback, my first car purchase, and also first Honda: 1992 Honda Accord EX. I bought it in 2000, when I was 22. I actually only held on to that car for less than a year because I shortly there after met my wife, who also drove a Honda, a 1993 Civic EX 4-door, which we kept in favor of having fewer miles and a year newer. We actually still have that Civic, and drive it daily. It now has 210,000 miles. I'll have to get a pic of it for next Thursday.

Was still the 1.9L with a whopping 108hp. They put a body kit on it and called it a GT :D

1989 Corolla

The pic of the corolla before it went into the garage... It is more or less in the same condition as it went in.. Was suppose to be my project car to get it into decent shape and running again.. Although the crack on the dash don't know what I would do with that.

By the way you can see the CRV behind one of the pictures.. so it was about the same time I retired it. Everything is stock and it has original 121,000 miles on it. I bought it off my parents with only 75,000 mile on it in 2004 when they got the RAV4 for $500 the same amount the dealer was willing to trade for it. Unfortunately the I will patch the under panels before they got worst ended up ignored and getting worse. You might see the faded paint and the spot 2 people rear ended me while not paying attention with the bumper still intact.

98 HP engine and 99 ft/lb torque Carburetor!. It starts like a champ every time... driving it before waiting for operating temperature is another story. Won't get out of first gear in the winter time until warmed up.

3 speed auto!

This was what I consider my first real car. The first car I bought was a 1958 CJ5 Jeep, but it needed a complete engine rebuild (I wish I had listened to my dad back then) and wasn't on the road for a full year right after I bought it.

Very nice 20CRV. The first car I drove that I inherited was my father's 68 Chevy Caprice. That thing was a tank. I didn't get it until I had my license 11 years later. He kept that thing until it just gave out.

Not my first car, neither my oldest car, but the only one I own... My 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit pickup, 1.6 litre naturally aspirated diesel engine, 4 speed manual eco transmission, the fuel economy reaching up to 55 miles per gallon... Wow, I miss this little truck!

My dad and 16 year old brother are using it now... Over across the pond in the USA.

My first vehicle was a 1987 Mazda B2300 TD (My own badge, as I got it with a bad motor, and then put a 2.3 litre Mitsubishi turbo diesel in it) Then a 1982 Nissan Maxima/Datsun 810 with the rare 2.8 litre 6 cyl diesel motor, Then I bought a 1988 Jeep Comanche to put that Nissan motor in, but never ended up doing that.
The next car was a 1981 Volkswagen rabbit with a 1.5 litre diesel motor and a 4 speed manual.
After that I bought my 1982 Volkswagen pickup.

My love for Hondas started with my sister's Honda Civic, of which I was the maintenance man =)

Then when I moved here to Africa, our team has a 1996 Honda CRV, it only has 152,xxx KMs and is in quite good shape for the age and for the abuse it gets...
