Timing Chain broken

i have the ultimate problem. My 2005 diesel CRV's timing chain has broken and the current garage I have put it with have refused to fix it. They say it is beyond economic repair, expensive strip down etc. Mileage is 125000 and it has been a very good runner. What do folk think?

Watch Eric the car guy on 'you tube' he says he has done more than one by looking at the chain and turning by hand with
a spanner on crankshaft.if it will do this without jamming or noise.replace the chain. If the pistons are ok ,you could get a recon head.It all depends on what value you put on an 05 Honda crv that you obviously have feelings for.
