Installed an Alpine iLX-W650 in the '13 EXL today. Pretty easy install, especially since I had Crutchfield assemble all the wiring harnesses. I went a step further and also removed the center console to run the supplied USB extension cable from the Alpine unit to the storage area in the console. Overall the install took about 3 hours to complete and that included "clean up" time, as the car is 6 years old I vacuumed where the console was and also wiped it down and cleaned it thoroughly.

Very well done, I like how it sit flush with the console just like OEM. How are you liking it so far?

I myself dont really care about entertainment system since I never have my radio on while driving lol
I drive a lot for work and I'm looking forward to using Maps on a larger screen. I also have Apple Music on all the time.

Sweet! Looks very nice. So, how is the sound? Is it better? Do you plan to add an amp and/or do a speaker upgrade? Do the external steering wheel functions all work properly, etc.? Bluetooth working?

I plan a similar upgrade soon, in stages, but haven't yet chosen a head unit. How did you arrive at this one as your choice? I like the package that comes with the amp that mounts on the rear of the head unit. Good price, too. Only drawback I see is no HD radio.
The sound is very good, especially on factory speakers. I do plan on speaker upgrades which includes the sub under the passenger seat. Bluetooth works fine as do the steering wheel controls since I got all the required and optional wiring harnesses. HD radio doesn't matter as I use Apple Music.

Nice install!

Can you tell us about the steering wheel controls, imid controls and backup cam? All working ok? Any special adapters used? Backup cam on both screens?
Steering wheel controls work fine since I got the optional wiring harness. Imid screen still works but only for clock and mpg, but I keep it on mpg anyway. Right now backup cam on imid screen only. I know there is a way to tap into the factory cam and add to Apine screen too but I'll look into that later.
