In my view... wireless charging is over rated, particularly in motor vehicles. But, to each their own choosing. :)

Where a gen5 CRV (and 10th generation Accord) is concerned... in our family.. we always connect with a lightening cable for CarPlay anyway.. so.. a wireless unit is wasted in that context.

Wired connectivity is much more reliable compared to bluetooth, an likely always will be. Bluetooth is particularly prone to drops and interference in a highly electronic environment... which is exactly what modern motor vehicles are. So, given this, with a wire already there... charge from the lightening cable, which is also more efficient and reliable than any Q chargers out on the market right now.

As I understand it CarPlay can't work with just bluetooth, insufficient bandwidth, though it does use BT for some functions (If I'm wrong here, plese let me know).
So your options are wifi or a cable. You can use wifi if you use your phone as a hotspot, but if you do your phone's battery will drain quickly, so you need a cable to keep it charged, kind of obviating the benefit of using wifi.
So I can understand wanting wireless charging in the car.
I agree with you about BT in general. Get 3 or 4 people in a car, with phones, smart watches, fitbits, CGM setups, BT-enabled coffee mugs and you can approach 20 BT devices in the cab, in addition to whatever the car has, not to mention the car next to you, behind you etc. MUCH safer to use a cable.
