I am the happy owner of the automatic 2010 CRV which has a towing capacity of 1500 Kg and looking at towing approx 1100 Kg for about 10,000 kilometres. Car is regularly serviced and done just under 140,000 Klm. The question is not on the condition of the car but whether any one, with a similar CRV, has comfortably towed that weight long distance.
All comments would be appreciated as that will determine fitting electric brakes and purchasing good road tyres. ::

My '07 AWD EX-L 2.4L (also a Gen3) has a 1500 pound towing capacity, which, I have read here, is somewhat lower than your Euro (?) model, and the previous owner installed a 2" Curt hitch and then used it to tow a U-Haul trailer with 1500 pounds of cargo, 1500 miles, from Los Angeles, to Austin. He had no issues. The car did have new tires as well. If I were you, I would check your tires and your brakes to make sure they are adequate to the task, and I would consider installing an inline transmission cooler. as such a load could cause the transmission to run hot or overheat, which could otherwise cause damage. Let us know how it turns out, and be safe!
