TPMS indicator is always on in my 2010 Honda CRV, I checked the tire pressure for all the tires & they are as per the manual.
Any idea on why this indicator is turned on even though the tire pressure is normal ?
Also is it safe to drive around with the TPMS indicator on ? or I should get it checked ?

Did you check the spare as well? Not sure if the spare on the 2010 has the sensor as well. My 2007 didn't.
If your spare and all tires are pressure correctly, then one or more of you sensor might be dead.
In that case, you're fine driving it around. However, I'd get the sensor replaced, just in case you truly have a low pressured tire(s). I'd do all 4 of them since the other will likely die soon as well


One of the sensors in my 07 finally die in the summer. I ordered 4 Denso OEM replacement from RockAuto and had Discount tire installed them. The sensors cost approx 120 + 40 installation from DT. The only catch is you'd have to have a TPMS programmer to write the new sensors ID's to the ECU and reset the warning light.

If tire pressures are good then it's safe to drive. If the low pressure indicator is on and the tire pressures are ok then one of the tire sensors are bad. If the TPMS indicator is on then there is a problem that the dealer needs to address. But again it is safe to drive if your pressures are ok.

I'll confirm that the 2010 has a sensor in the spare, so I would bet that is the issue. Once you air up the spare you should be good to go!

What! the spare has a sensor as well, did not know this.
Also regarding TPMS, great invention. If you run over a nail while driving it is a great indicator. But like many electronic things in a vehicle, it is removing routine visual checks that we use to have to do a decade or two ago. Always check the tires routinely, TPMS light on or off.

Not necessarily, but worth a double check to rule out all possibilities.
Some car has 4 sensors, some has 5 (which is the spare).
My Toyota for example, has 5 sensors.

The TPMS sensors from the 2009 CRV was a battery operated unit, these will have a life between 7 to 12 years, your 2011 is in the range of possible TPMS sensor battery failure which will cause TPMS errors. Dont think the batteries can be replace so a new unit needs to be installed. Ask if your Honda dealer could check the battery charge remaining to see if this maybe the cause.

If the TPM only is showing then it is a bad battery in the wheel. Go into any tire shop, they screw a tester onto any air valve and it will show which wheel is bad. To replace the bad sensor and reset is about $70.00. The batteries are not replaceable

About ready for 4 new tires with 4 new TPM Sensors. Looking at Densos on RockAuto. They show 2, one is $28, the other $50.
Which ones do I want?

Mine is a 2009 and has no reset on it so I paid the $70 it was the left front wheel tpm

On my 2011, the TPMS light came on while driving on the highway while on a road trip 2 yrs ago.

When I got home I started looking for sensors and a local place who would install them for cheap. Being a procrastinator....the light went out after a month or so.

It came on a few weeks ago....I didn't get alarmed this time...and it went out. I know I have a dying or dead battery in one or more sensor. I just haven't gotten to getting it done.
