If Gen 1 doesn't have it on the cooler lines (check and trace, it might be there) and you are going to cut one in, make sure flow direction. There are posts on the flow direction as it does have an internal bypass in case it clogs. You can also add a Magnefine tranny filter instead, same size barbs, fits in factory clamp, adds magnet (like magnetic drain plugs). Search in my posts here and or Piloteers. I have pictures of the filters and flow direction.
