The remote transmitter in the key fob has broken / run out of battery. When I try to use the key manually in the driver's door, the alarms sound and do not stop when driving.

Any solutions for immobilising the alarm? enabling manual use of key?

This is a 2006 CRV executive model.

Replace the battery in the key fob?
Indeed but didn't want to drive some distance with the alarms blaring!

I got someone to come out and fix it. Strangely transferring chip into new fob (fob had been glued up to stop key falling out previously ) and replacing new battery resulted in alarm being now immobilised.

Odd but I'll live with it unless anyone knows why.
