Two iPhones in 1 CR-V

Hello gang,
Looking for help in managing 2 iPhones in our 2023 with wireless Carplay connection.
My wife and I both carry an iPhone her XR and my Eleven.
Everything was fine when we first got the car and only my phone was set up.
Later, we connected my wife’s phone and now when we get in and I intend to drive, my phone will not connect and neither will hers.
It looks like, unless y'all have a different idea, that when we get in the car, one of us will have to shut off bluetooth. Do I have this right?
How else could this be handled?
I could not find this topic in the search.

If it’s like Gen5 you set a priority for the phones. It will try and connect to priority 1 phone 1st, and if not present will then connect to priority 2 phone. In Gen 5 this is for BT connection since it does not have wireless CarPlay, but I assume CarPlay connection would be handled the same way.

as you mentioned CarPlay, I think you have it right.

Thank you.
I just watched a limited information Honda demo on YT how to set this up however, does it always default to the last phone connected or will the phone you select and save as #1 always connect first every time you start up?
Thank you.

Mine tries to connect to the priority #1 phone every time you start the car. My phone is priority 2, so if I’m alone in the car I always see it searching for my wife’s phone first. I have to either wait for my phone to connect, or manually intervene.

Thanks for your help EX, I believe this is now sorted. I can’t say it was real ez to set this up, it wasn’t for me at least very user friendly in fact, I can’t remember right now how I got to the screen where I was able to select and save priority one.
Anyway, thanks again.
