What does this mean? Background: I had some rubbing noise from rear driver's side wheel. After I inspected and compared to the other side, it looked like the pad had slipped toward the hub a bit. I then used a screw driver to nudge it higher. Then the noise got worse. The outer ring on the rotor feels a bit raised. Please help.

Something is seriously wrong. You shouldn't be able to "... used a screw driver to nudge it higher." The pads look new-ish. When were they replaced?

Thanks for the feedback. I just got back from the mechanic. The caliper was the issue. Got a new one. Problem solved.
