Looks like a significant loss of usable cabin space in the back. The drive train should be much better than the 1.5T/CVT. It will be interesting to see important details like battery capacity, miles on a charge, city/hwy mpg, price increase, etc.

Europe will cut their teeth on that.

Both the current RAV4 and the current Accord have about a 7% premium for the hybrid model. I would expect the CR-V to be in the same ballpark (for example the MSRP on a 2018 CRV-EX is $27,050, so a 7% premium would be around $28,950).

How significant? Didn't see that mentioned. And did I understand correctly that the second electric motor drives the rear wheels, replacing mechanical AWD? That's the current advantage the Rav4 AWD system has over the CR-V. Would also love to know how much weight the hybrid system adds.

From the picture in the second link that was posted, it doesn't appear like much of the cargo space will be taken up by batteries.
It does look like the storage area where the spare tire is in current models will be batteries.

It says the gasoline engine will be a 2.0L engine, not the current 1.5L turbo.
And it says it will operate in 3 modes:
EV Drive - batteries only
Hybrid Drive - batteries for power and the gasoline engine recharging the batteries
Engine Drive - activates a lock-up clutch mechanism which creates a direct connection between the petrol engine and the wheels.

In normal driving, the powertrain will automatically transition between Hybrid Drive and EV Drive. At moderate speeds, the CR-V Hybrid will typically run in EV Drive for more than half of the time, but at faster speeds, the SUV will be in EV Drive for approximately one third of the time.
