@Lochinvar is right.. You have to remove power to the alarm. Mine had an aftermarket alarm and the 1st thing i did was unplug that thing. I use a club and 2 pedal lock outs to keep it from getting stolen (knock on wood).

I still need to completely remove it but just haven't gotten around to it.

I would also chase the alarm problem you’re having as Lochinvar has suggested.

I may also consider plugging in an obd2 scanner to see if any codes are showing up ...
A clicking from the glovebox area could be a relay going bonkers. I’m not sure of the layout of the Gen1, but the Gen2 PCM plus a handful of relays are behind the glovebox.
Yes the main relay is behind the glove box on the body.
