Some that know me would argue I made that journey long ago but I digress. I had money down on one that would have been built the end of January, delivery around late February. While I was getting my truck serviced I lucked upon one that was already "in transit" which is apparently a meaningless term. A little more than a week later I was told that she is on a truck. So I thought any day now. I was wrong, I was very wrong. When they say on a truck that isn't like Amazon where it is on its way to be delivered but literally on a truck. Waiting for a driver. No chips, no drivers, argh!! Apparently with the storm before Christmas any anecdotal data my dealer had as to how long this process takes went right out the window.

I offered to take a crash course on driving a semi, fly up to Ontario, and drive the truck back myself. For some inexplicable reason my dealer thought I was joking, so here I am. Has anyone taken delivery of their CRV that was in transit right after Christmas that could tell me how long it took from when it was on the truck to at the dealership?

You fell for those dealer tricks? Hummm...

And forget the dealer on-line site, showing all the Crv’s “in stock”. In stock might mean on order, or part of their allocation for the upcoming months, or already sold. All designed to get customers into the dealership, to sell something else, or make a deposit on something that might arrive in the next few months.

I feel your pain! We were looking at the Touring Hybrid until the issue of no spare tire threw that out. Next we wanted and EXL AWD in blue and our dealer had 2 on the order list to be made in early November. We placed a deposit on it in October and by November 24th it arrived for us to pick up.

They explained that the CRV's arrived from either Marysville or Ontario and were deposited in a location south of Houston [where we live]. Then the cars are transported to the dealership from there, so kind of a local re-delivery. Anyways there were only 3 AWD blue EXL's for Houston and our dealer was allocated 2 of them. this is how we got our car. It is a pain and then to top it off at the time dealers were adding as much as $5000 onto the MSRP! We ended up about $1700, oh well what can you do!

Best of luck and hope you see your car sooner rather than later!

So I shouldn’t tell you I walked into my dealer last week, purchased a CR-V ST Hybrid model that was “In Transit,” and left with it the next day because it had arrived overnight? 😁 My first CR-V too.
Would you buy a lottery ticket for me please?

The term ‘in transit’ is a sales gimmick. Just means it’s ‘earmarked’ for the particular dealership.
I may regret not buying the blue sport touring I test drove this week. I have a 2020 exl Aegean blue with lease up 3/17 and I really want red this time so I put a deposit down on one they are due to receive. It has a first production date of 1/24 but I know that can get pushed back. I hate to settle but seems like production still hasn't ramped back up enough so I am stressing. Hoping it makes it before 2/28 in case Honda does not renew the $500 lease loyalty promotion. Depending on what it looks like interest rates are doing I might want to do my credit app now to lock in the rate.
I just talked to the dealer and he said that Honda is saying all cars are delayed, to paraphrase, they don't have drivers to deliver them.
Looks like you may well have to fetch it yourself then!
Do you get your deposit back if they cannot deliver within a REASONABLE time and it's not your fault there are no drivers. What does the contract say. I'd be pissed.

Figured I could chime in too. Mine came from Canada as well, with the Continental Crosscontact.
Standard, not very good tires for CRVs. I got rid of mine a while ago when I had a flat on one. Didn't even make it to 45k miles.....Michelin are far superior.

It isn't hard to get the deposit back because there is a line for the cars. The only way I would back out is if it gets too close to may when my tax credit runs out. My car was totaled in November which is when I ordered the CRV. I think it was officially totaled on December 8th so around the first of June is when the 180 days runs out. I also have my Ridgeline so I don't have to worry about rentals unless my husband needs it on the weekends.

Perhaps you need to recontact the dealership that ordered the vehicle, they are in a better position to help you. Keep putting the pressure on them for a delivery date.
And ask for some kind of compensation ( a couple free oil changes or ???) for your inconvenience and aggravation! If you don't ask, the answer is No!

I already have six years of oil changes, discount on routine maintenance, and lifetime powertrain. I am just frustrated with the not knowing when it will arrive. They just told me by Feb 10th, I am good with that. I can stick it on my calendar.

I've been commuting to work via bicycle for years, saved alot of money this way but it's time to move on. I ordered mine end of December with build date somewhere in February. Hoping to get it by March.

Mine had a build date for Dec.3-7 and was delivered end of Dec.
Same with my wife’s EX-L AWD
I went in on 12/26 they had 3 but not what we wanted. One was in transit but no date. Salesman said it would show a date in 2 weeks and it did. Picked it up last Saturday. Ordered accessories separate and picked those up a few days ago.

That was the same date I switched to this car. The one I originally put a deposit on is being built next week. I just wonder if the issue is the region I live in. There are three dealerships that show no CRVs at all. The rest show no hybrids. I guess it could also be the plant they are made at, mine was in Canada. I have a solid contract, I have the vin number, it will come. Just hoping for sooner rather than later. All my accessories, sans the trailer hitch, are sitting in the dining room patiently waiting.
