I bought one of these "stick on" mounts. I see where you mounted it but I am concerned with it sticking to the pebbly soft dash. There is room to mount it on the left side of the nav screen without blocking any items on the screen. Seems like it should stick easier to the smooth surface. Has anybody tried that or have any thoughts on the matter?

I have one on the left and one on the right side of the nav screen. The one on the left is fine, but it does make it hard to press the side (soft) buttons. I tend to use the right one unless I have someone in the passenger seat. I use this one:

I used to use this one in my Accord. Instead of in the CD player though, I had mounted it in the horizontal vent. Always worked perfectly for me and never fell out or anything, but it did block a little bit of airflow and over a couple years, left a slight deflection in one of the louvers. Not sure yet if I'll try it in the CR-V since I'm still messing with the Apple Car Play and leaving the phone below the console.

I just got a vent mount and am playing around with the left/right position for it. How do you guys run your charge cable from it though? Down the left side of the info screen and into the charge port in the center console? Wrap around the top and to the left side into the console or 12v charge port? Just curious...preferably all of the buttons and icons on the info screen are accessible too. Thanks.

I too do not like the idea of blocking the vent with a mount. On ProClips's site they have universal console mounts. Has anyone installed one yet, and if so, which part # did you use?

I've been using an iOttie Easy One Touch 3 (V2.0) Car Mount mounted to the windshield in the lower left corner. I've seen people say they don't trust suction cups... That sucker sticks pretty damn well without suction - a function of the material rather than adhesive; you need to pry a credit card under it to get it loose! The clamping action just serves to pull it tight and make the mounting interface firm.

I wanted something with a small footprint that was also easily removable, and doesn't block any vents, which really limits options.
I ended up going with this Scosche magnet mount. Can mount to dash or windshield. Right now i have it in the corner of with windshield which is mostly out of the way.

I think the proclip solution is awful for the CRV.
