Agree, I've used those in other cars and that thing has never fallen off, even in high temps like my toll pass is prone to do. Still have one in my 94 Del Sol.I've been using an iOttie Easy One Touch 3 (V2.0) Car Mount mounted to the windshield in the lower left corner. I've seen people say they don't trust suction cups... That sucker sticks pretty damn well without suction - a function of the material rather than adhesive; you need to pry a credit card under it to get it loose! The clamping action just serves to pull it tight and make the mounting interface firm.
Hi freestyle,You should NEVER be using your phone while driving and or stopped at a light, by doing so you're endangering yourself and others in the process.
Especially with latest tech in CRV, there is no need to for GPS, etc. Just place your phone in between the slider in center console where it fits perfect and forget about touching your phone until arriving at your destination OR PULL OVER.
In Ontario, Canada it's illegal to even look or touch your phone and fines are over $500. I hope they keep cracking down on those who text and drive, leave your smartphone alone!
This is the issue, this thread might as well be about how I can drive Drunk and NOT get Caught.Hi freestyle,
You may be 100% right but we are all adults here..hopefully.
Some people are just looking for opinions and not a lecture ?
Again i do agree with you but its not my place to tell anyone else what they should be doing in their own car.
Holding or using your phone in ontario is illegal. I havent found anything that says i cant look at my phone if it is mounted on the dash. You should NEVER be using your phone while driving and or stopped at a light, by doing so you're endangering yourself and others in the process.

With all due respect, I think you are missing the point of the thread here. This is about phone mounts, not a commentary about hands-free use, or is it legal or even appropriate to touch the phone while driving. This is the issue, this thread might as well be about how I can drive Drunk and NOT get Caught.
People don't get it, don't touch your phones while driving!
Distracted driving causes more deaths than impaired driving does and it's only getting worse.

Government website specifically states it's illegal to even look at the screen of your mobile device, for which you'll be ticketed. If you receive a notification, it's human nature to want to look at your screen. This is a distraction and is causing accidents.Holding or using your phone in ontario is illegal. That being said this thread isnt about the legality of phone usage while driving. Or lecturing others.
Point is there is ZERO need for a phone mount since it's a distraction and is killing people. And per link above is illegal in Ontario, Canada and should be everywhere. Like I said, might as well talk about how can I drink and drive. We have Android Auto and Apple to view gps maps, etc. No need for phone to be mounted to view your notifications, etc. With all due respect, I think you are missing the point of the thread here. You may want to start another thread for a discussion on distracted driving. LOTS of distractions!
EDIT: And I agree with poster "lizzurd", who says says "I havent found anything that says i cant look at my phone if it is mounted on the dash."
Like someone stated already, Start your own topic if you want to soapbox...Government website specifically states it's illegal to even look at the screen of your mobile device, for which you'll be ticketed. Devices NOT included in the ban:

environment of the vehicle or that provides road or weather information

-Car audio screens that display still images
Only Commercial vehicles are exempted, see link above.
Well, there are those of us who don't care what the law is in Ontario since I have no intention of going there. And as others have said, the lectures are more appropriate someplace else. Try Facebook, I'm sure you'll find lots of folks to debate it with there.Point is there is ZERO need for a phone mount since it's a distraction and is killing people. Does your state allow stuff mounted in the field of view?My wife and I use this on our windshield... it's perfect!
