Hey everyone,
Anyone know what this latch is for? I was replacing the handle on my tailgate and can't figure out what this does. I assume it's an internal latch to open the tailgate, but when I press it it doesn't seem connected to anything. Am I just missing linkage/hardwear somewhere?

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Pretty sure it's where the glass latches in place.

It would help if we knew what year your CRV was, trim style, automatic or manual transmission. We normally put that in our profile. Click on your account in the top right corner, that should bring up your account details page. Than under Vehicle Details put your Year, Trim, Transmission and 4wd or 2wd.

As far as the latch I have never seen that before. My glass latch is in the middle of my hatch door. But us not knowing what CRV you have can make it harder to help as even in the first gen CRV's there are differences. And welcome to the forums!

Difficult to work out from the image, but it looks to me like it's the latch which prevents the tailgate from being opened when the tailgate glass is closed (glass pushes on this latch when closed, disengaging the tailgate release mechanism from the tailgate handle). Looks different to mine, but from the image at least, appears to be in the same position.
