Last weekend, my wife bought a 2014 CR-V EX-L AWD @ 72,000 kms /47,000 miles on her drive home. Its Bright white with a front ram bar. One of those impulse buys she often does.... She picks it up in 2-3 weeks - after inspection, insurance and being platted tasks. See below for picture.

Was reading online reviews and it has a factory "auto headlights" feature. Newbie question.... Where is its headlight daytime light "sensor"? re: In the front grill area, on the dash surface or ??? As you can tell, I know very little about vehicles and even less about the CR-V model. If wondering, I was told to keep its sensor super clean - or it acts up. Appreciate location and part number - so I can do a G00gle search on it as well.

thanks.

Just leave the headlight control switch in the "AUTO" position, and the Sun will do the rest. My wife keeps turning it "OFF," and driving me mad about it, cause "the lights aren't turning OFF when I turn the car OFF." They will turn off when you lock the vehicle, or X amount of time after you lock it, depending on what the vehicle is set to do.

I had a 2014 EX-L. The auto headlights kept coming on with a little shade (sometimes on and off several times). I changed the default setting for lights sensitivity to min No more problem. In Virginia the state moved safety inspection stickers to the right bottom. When they were in the middle, depending on sun angle, they would cast a shadow on sensor causing lights to come on when not needed. Again, no longer an issue.

Funny, on our 2014 I had to turn the sensitivity to max because I couldn't get the headlights to come on even at night!

After our used purchase, one of the 1st things I did was get into the menus and select "factory default". I didn't want any weird settings from the previous owner. At factory default, our "auto" headlights feature seems to work great - even in dim lighting conditions. The other thing I did was convert its factory FOG lights to be "always on". Yes, Even when its high beams are on. re: https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/fog-light-mod-simple-version.198119/ This simple MOD worked great for me as well....
