I want to upgrade and protect my EX as much as possible while spending the least amount of money.
So far i have added these inexpensive options..

1. Chrome Exhaust finishers
2. OEM Cargo tray
3. Mud Guards
4. Steering Wheel cover
5. Center console cover
6. Aftermarket Cargo organizer

Is there any other "quick and easy and inexpensive (relatively)" inside or out... add-ons or accessories you guys can think of? The door body mouldings i am considering.. but on the fence about them.

thanks!

Weather mats were also my first purchase.

You really should get some sort of tint work done on the vehicle to prevent UV-A and IR sunlight from damaging the upholstery and plastic parts.

Door Window shades are certainly nice to have.

What kind of budget are you working with?

Mud guards?? Didn't your vehicle come with those?

want to stay under a few hundred really..

Mine came tinted already. Are you talking about tinting it more?
It also came with chrome exhaust and door mouldings.. i guess the dealer installed them because it was flatbed trucked from a different dealer over to mine.. but no splash guards.. picked those up for like $60 also

Your driver and passenger side windows came tinted? Also the back is not really tinted, I was told its just dark glass, so it will not block UVA from damaging your skin and the upholstery.

Just dark glass. There’s no UV protection at all. I had the front windows tinted and had clear tint applied to all the other windows to add UV protection. Also remember the sunroof if you have one too. I had it tinted since it’s regular glass. Helps with keeping the heat down in the summer and less work for the AC.

Go for LLumar tint. It’s basically the one that reputable tint places use. You want to make sure you go to a tint place that knows what they’re doing. You don’t want them screwing up your electronics or damaging your door panels.

The tint place I went to is the place the dealerships take their cars when you buy tint from them. Dealerships wouldn’t go to a cheap place for their brand new cars. My entire family have had our cars tinted there and have not had a single problem at all, probably 7 vehicles now over the years.

Most dealers are going to put on DYE based tint because it's super cheap. It will block UV-A but does nothing for IR (heat).

Three types of tint.

1) Dye (cheap and only blocks UV-A and is also easy to scratch)

2) Metalized Tint, not the silver stuff, it's also black but contains metal particles. (Blocks UV-A and 65% IR but also blocks cell phone reception)

3) Ceramic Tint (Blocks UV-A and about 65% IR but does not block cell phone reception another added benefit is that it is super hard so it is practically scratch resistant) Downside is it's about 3 times the price per foot.

Look at LLumar CTX 30%. It's a ceramic tint. You can get the CR-V cut version for about $68 on eBay. Just find out how much your guy will charge to install precut tint for you. Don't mention Ceramic or he will know you have money and charge more. The price for a reputable installer would be the same no matter which type but others will charge more if the tint cost more.

I believe FormulaOne Stratos Series, by Llumar, is their top of the line IR rejecting ceramic film. The numbers appear better than CTX.

I'm a huge fan of the OEM running boards; really like their sporty look. You can get them for about $400, plus shipping from College Hills Honda. That said, they are not the easiest accessories to properly install DIY. You can see forum member robbyg's effort here. The dealer did mine, but I had them do it again CORRECTLY due to initial hack job.

Some great ideas. I believe Huper Optik is the Mercedes of ceramic tint. But most reputable shops carry excellent brands. Does not matter too much if the prep and application is not done well.

We get hit big time in CA with restrictions on tint. Just about any good shop in this state will tell you it is not worth getting legal tint. It's just too light. Most get 1 grade darker than legal and it is rare cops will stop anyone, if they can even tell the difference.

Then some tints are just too dark. And often you can see dark tinted cars pull out of driveways with door and fender dents, just before you have to slam on your brakes so as not to hit them. And that's in daylight!

I like that console cover. Anything that adds life to parts and keeps things looking good is worth it.

Yes it is a bit better than CTX but the problem is that Llumar only sells it in bulk rolls to their certified installers directly . Not even their eBay rep can sell it to the public, I asked.

If you want Formula One you are going to have to go to a high end tint shop that uses mostly Llumar tint and is certified by them. It's just not worth the big $$ your going to pay to get a CR-V done with formula one. Most guys who have it done are using it on expensive sports cars.
