Who has the highest mileage Gen 5, and what problems have you experienced?

We've only logged about 12.3K miles (2017), but curious what if any problems high mileage Gen 5 (2017-19) CR-Vs have encountered.

51000 miles
Oil Dilution (update applied 2/1)
Mulfunctioning infotainment screeen, won’t switch to nighttime illumination / brightness (scheduled to be repaired 3/8)
ACC won’t hold steady speed (fixed 2/1)
Tires replaced at 31000 miles

Other than that normal maintenance - with short OCI oil changes in October, November, and December (related to oil dilution)

56,000 Just OD and a warped trim piece on the roof. Tires still have tread. I do notice a lot of noise from the brake pedal. I thought it was due to the cheap plastics in the pedal. It could be the MC or related parts. I forgot to take care of it while I still had my full warranty. All the other fluids except motor oil look good. Battery needed cleaning at 30k miles.

2017 exl, 28k, at 6k complete sunroof failure, had to replace sunroof assembly and motor, they refused to replace sunroof glass.
8k lower seat replaced, 2 sun visors failed to light up all replaced. They scratched 3 trim pieces and jam.
12k sunroof leaking, said it need adjusting and replaced sunshade because of stains.
17k sunroof leaked said it needed adjustment again.
22k sunroof leaked again another adjustment refused to replace stained sunshade.
24k sunroof leaking again, finally they decided to replace sunroof glass, refused to change even more water stained sunroof shade.
Oil stinks of fuel, changing oil ever 1k for the last 6k. Had update done and fuel economy tanked to 23mpg 80% highway.
25k replaced Bridgestone tires due to low tread but they wore evenly.
27k developed ticking noise in the sunroof, goes away somewhat when I close sunshade. Going for oil change tomorrow and I’m sure they will say the ticking is normal.
I love the truck, only thing that would make me sell it is a 2020 crv or 2019 Rdx

Also, I have only gotten over 300 miles on a tank full about 3 or 4 times in the last 26 months and that was on very long trips, other wise I only get 240 miles the most with 10 gallons of fuel. My right foot is just fine, thank you

WOW! You have had you share of issues. Wondering if you could try a different dealer?

"I get really bad gas mileage, but it's not my fault. Ever"

I have only had one tank under 28mpg combined. Econ always off. Mix of City and Highway.

This is a good thread, thank you.

Just crossed 30k on my 2017. All issues I've had are known by Honda and addressed with dealer notifications.

1) dead battery due to parking brake problem. Update applied per TSB. Problem solved.
2) warning lights on dash during inclement weather. radar update applied per TSB. Problem solved.
3)dash rattle due to heater core needing stabilization. Clamp added per TSB. Problem solved.
4) head unit wouldn't dim. USB update applied per service news article. Problem fixed.
5) no dilution to be concerned about but I did have the product update applied and the a/c control unit replaced per the letter received.
6) this one is minor, but on receipt there were some items in the setting menu that weren't available, I believe related to auto headlights or wipers. Removing the negative terminal from the battery solved this as well as it forced a hard reboot.

I've had every available TSB and product update that my VIN is eligible for need to be completed. But still no major issues or premature failures. Super happy with the car.

The 2019 RDX is available now. I know.
Well that didn't take long...

Let's please confine this thread to Gen 5 CR-V owners with actual high-mileage experiences to share.

Do you get any special pricing on the oil changes?

I am a cold climate, light footed, Canadian owner, hence more winter idle and stiff operation. My driving is a mix of highway and town. My iPhone app calculates my average Miles Per Imp Gal as 33.2 since Nov 2017 to 2019 over 38,400km. Best mileage was 40 (highway, wind must have been going the right way). For reference my previous ride a RAV4 V6 was average 26.2..

Thanks to everyone for sharing

It would be very helpful if this thread could be regularly updated with ongoing Gen 5 CR-V owner's mileage and issue information. With a 100k extended warranty I fully intend to keep our CR-V, but like many others on this forum what lies in store will be very interesting.

2018 EX, 23k miles in 9 months (bought in May '18) Absolutely NO problems! First vehicle I've ever owned that hasn't had ANYTHING wrong with it, with the exception of my USB Cable wearing out every few months from constantly plugging in to use Android Auto every time I get in it.

Also bought the extended warranty to 120k miles, plan on keeping it for a while!

Wow. That's some serious mileage! What part of the country or area are you from?
