Does the HondaLink remote start package work on my 2021 CR-V touring hybrid? I’m having trouble finding it online. I have the HondaLink app but can’t figure out the remote start part.

Hey Matt! While I have not used the HondaLink for anything, I want to welcome you to the forum. Lots of very knowledgeable folks here who will step in and give more answers. Again, welcome, and congrats on your new CR-V!

EDIT: You should have remote start from your key FOB.

I feel like Honda is way behind on this. Surprising for such an advanced vehicle. I couldn't believe they didn't even have two way remotes, so I have to look out the window to see if it started, like it's 1995! I think I'll install a fax machine too!

With a Hybrid, looking out the window would tell me nothing except that the car is there.
Of course "Starting" has a somewhat different meaning with a hybrid.
Maybe you could set up your fax machine to accept documents through the CD slot?
Oh, I forgot, no CD slot anymore either.

Hey Matt! Happy holidays. Regarding remote start, like JB stated, it should be on your key fob. i have the 2020 CRV EX-L, so im unsure if it’s different from the touring hybrid. i actually just tested my remote start over the weekend, and it works. What you need to do is press the lock button on the key fob, and then within 5 seconds of pressing the lock button, press and hold remote start button for 2-3 seconds (button with arrow going in clockwise circle), and the vehicle should start. Article with info below:

I hope this helps!

No, the Honda Link remote start is not offered on the CR-V.

Guys, the OP is not referring to the Remote Start button on the keyfob. The OP is referring to the remote start feature that's available via the Honda Link mobile app thats available only on certain models (Accord Touring, Insight Touring, and Odyssey Touring/Elite), which allows you to remote start from your phone (assuming your car is in an area with a cell signal), so you can start your car beyond the range of your key fob.

I had a Sonata Plug-in with this feature (Hyundai calls it blue link) and when I stayed at Caesars Palace in Vegas and self-parked during the 110+ degree summer days I'd remote start the car from my hotel room, and by the time I got to my car the cabin is already cold inside.

It would require a cellular modem in the car, and its associated antenna, active at all times (more parasitic draw). Plus somebody would have to pay for the wireless service for that modem. Some bullet-proof authentication would also be required.
So it would take hardware, not just software.
I agree, it would make sense to have it be part of the nav system included with the Touring trim, if they didn't want to give it to everyone. Does anyone know if the owner has to pay for the service? If Honda pays (in bulk presumably) I can see their hesitation, they sell a LOT of CR-Vs.
