I have a 2018 EX. At the end of the warranty period the thigh adjustment switch or motor failed. Only this particular adjustment was affected and none of the others (seat back and forth, etc). My dealer fixed the issue under warranty, ie at the end of 2020. It has failed again less than two years later. How is this possible!? I only rarely use this adjustment. Dealer says "too bad". I have to pay for it. (I won't pay the dealer to fix it again.) Anyone else with this issue? What's the likelihood the same switch fail twice in the same way? Is there a way to fix this myself?

I don't really think it matters if anyone else ever had a bad switch or not. It's not going to change the fact that you need a new switch and it is out of warranty. There are no open campaigns by Honda for seat switches, so no reason to believe there is any chronic problem in the field.

That said.... never had a seat switch fail on any of my CRVs over the years, including my 2017. Then again, I generally only ever use them one time to set the seat and then hit the memory button to store it. Occasionally on long drives I will vary the seat adjust some.. so again.. never seen a bad switch.

I guess it is possible that something you do as a driver is contributing. The switch is located where you could in fact possibly damage it getting in and out of the vehicle if you drag your foot across it getting in and out... but I would think that would be hard to do.

Sounds unlikely it is a bad switch since it is barely used? But, can not really tell without looking at it with a meter. Checking switch and then checking to see if it is getting power and ground. Do you have an electrical schematic of the seat?
