I've been getting the P2138 code with loss of power about once a week or so for the last month. (I typically turn the car off, start it back up, and its good to go) Today, it occurred twice in the same day, so I'm thinking its time to stop ignoring it.
My question is, does this code guarantee that the problem is occurring at the the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS), or is there a possibility that it's actually the Throttle Body Sensor. My understanding is that values from these two sensors are not aligning which causes the engine to shut down to low power mode and throw the code. What I'm trying to avoid is replacing the APPS when its really the Throttle Body Sensor that is causing the issue. The APPS looks a lot easier to replace.
Thanks!
