About 2 months ago I was told I needed a new steering rack and had my trusted mechanic install as opposed to dealing with my Honda dealership. The rack was replaced and worked with no issues until about a month ago when the indicator light came on and I had to leave it with my mechanic. My mechanic had the car for almost 2 weeks to try and resolve the problem. I got the car back and it was good until this morning when the indicator light came back on. The mechanic said that the new rack from Honda was not the problem and that there appeared to be a problem within the wiring harness. When I picked up the car last week he had mentioned that if the issue were to happen again I might need a complete new electrical harness that comes with a significant cost. After the 2 week wait he thought he had resolved the problem but after todays reoccurrence he said he would look into the cost to replace the harness. I am now regretting that I ever replaced the old steering rack and should have just let well enough alone!!
