Greetings all,
I have a 2015 CR-v, that has just over 256K miles on the clock!! It has been a fantastic car!
Completed all services, oil every 5K, CVT every 30K...
Last week my wife said she experienced some vibrations during acceleration (she said it felt like she ran over some rumble strips), I drove it and noticed that the vibrations were only under load, highway speeds and coasting were fine....
Scheduled an appointment with Honda, on the way to the appointment, my wife said she was accelerating from a stop, heard a "clunk" and lost all power. Engine runs great, no warning lights, just no forward or reverse...
Honda picks up the car and says the CVT transmission is shot.... $6,800 for them to put in a new one!! The CR-V is now a lawn ornament in my driveway...
My question is, where can I buy a "Re-Build Kit" for the CVT?? I'm an aircraft mechanic, so mechanically, I'm sure that I can do it, but I haven't been able to find any of the parts to even begin...
Thanks,
Smitty
