2017 CR-V Can't Find Factory Data Reset

I have a 2017 CR-V and I am having two issues that I think could be fixed with a factory data reset, but I cannot find an option for Factory Data Reset anywhere in the menu and pushing the Volume knob in for 10 seconds does nothing.

The issues are both Bluetooth related. First, when I play audio via Bluetooth, the track number it gives me is always "1," regardless of which track it actually is. Second, this morning, the head unit stopped accepting the Bluetooth connection to my phone altogether. I tried deleting HandsFreeLink from my phone's list of devices and re-adding it, but while my phone will add "HandsFreeLink" to my list of connected devices, my head unit display continues to say, "No Device Connected."

Is it possible that my car uses some other method to initiate a Factory Data Reset? Or might there be another way to solve these issues that wouldn't involve a reset?

Thank you!

I must have a different head unit, because my Settings menu doesn't contain System or anything that would suggest resetting anything.

Please try holding the volume knob in steadily until you see a menu come up on the screen...this is a first step is trying to solve your issue.

I don't have our CRV here to check the other settings menus for you.

1.A soft Reboot is press and hold like @JB in AZ and many other members said 5 seconds and the reboot prompts

Data Reset is not a reboot

Thank you for your reply. I held the volume button down for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds and got no response. I tried it when the audio was on (turning off) and it was off (turning on). Same thing, no response.

I disconnected the positive terminal (I didn't know which one to do) of the battery for 60 seconds and reconnected it. The clock reset, but the head unit still remembered the identity of my smartphone.

I now also have four orange warning lights on my dash lit up, shown in the photos below. Have I messed up my car?

Thank you for your expertise and patience for a newbie.

A guy at the Honda dealership said he can look at it tomorrow afternoon, but he doesn't know about the warning lights yet. I'm not sure if I should be driving it like this. Please advise.

Personally I don't think you let it sit with the battery unhooked long enough. I would suggest 15-20 Minutes.

Also many of the driving systems have to be driven to do a reset. Which will likely make the lights go away.

Thank you for your quick reply. I tried again. I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery for 20 minutes and reconnected it. Same result as before: clock reset but other settings unchanged, four warning lights, but this time Bluetooth connected (yes!). I drove for 10 minutes and the orange lights went off (yes!). The track number still says "1" persistently. I'll see what the dealership guy says tomorrow.

Thank you!

It now seems that your CR-V is the LX trim. What we have been working with, in error, apparently, is that you have a higher trim level, with a higher level head unit.

Personally, I do not know how to reset (or reboot) the LX head unit.

A trip to the dealer is a good idea.

Ah, that would explain it. Thank you all for your quick replies. I didn't even know my trim level, so no worries. I'll let you know what the dealership says.

The guy at the dealership said that the track number on my head unit designates the connection type and not the track number, unless I'm using Pandora. He also said that the only way to do a Factory Data Reset is to take the thing apart, since my CR-V is a 2017, one year before the head unit was updated with the 2018 model.

Thank you all for your help.
