While driving my 2018 CRV the other day. The warning lights all of a sudden went haywire, with dang near every warning light flashing. The SUV stalled in the middle of traffic and I was almost hit from behind. Luckily, I was less than 2 miles from the local Honda Dealership. I was able to get the car running and limp into the dealership. Through this blog, I believe the vehicle went into limp mode. The technician checked the car out, and said that the fuel pump had failed, and it was under recall. I was at the dealership 2 months earlier getting a safety belt recall fixed. I asked if they could do the fuel pump recall and was told that it was only on a need basis. Well, here I am 2 months later, getting the low-pressure fuel pump replaced and it would be the next day to get the repair done. The next day, I got a call from the dealership and was informed that the High-pressure fuel pump has failed also. It was not putting out the required pressure. The High-pressure fuel pump is not covered under the recall. What are the odds of both fuel pumps failing at the same time. I feel that the recalled low-pressure fuel pump failed, causing debris to go to the high-pressure pump and clogging it, and causing it to fail. If the dealership replaced to low-pressure pump 2 months ago, I may not be in the predicament of having to pay to replace the high-pressure pump today. Has anyone else had this happen?
