2021 Cargo Liner is Ridiculous

I have an Acura cargo liner in my 2008 MDX and it is great. One piece, easy on, easy off, durable. Everything you want in a cargo area liner. The OEM version of this for the 2021 CR-V is one of the worst vehicle accessories I have ever seen. 3 pieces and I have to drill holes for snaps to install it? That’s nuts. The fit is not very good for an OEM product either. Looks sloppy and with multiple pieces, there is a way for liquids to get through which kind of defeats the purpose. If you are looking at this accessory, make sure you know what you are in for and getting and that it will meet your needs. Other than that, the car is terrific. My wife has had to do a lot of long distance driving for family matters (like half-way across the country long) and the car performs like a champ.

1) you were not very specific about what cargo liner you are referring to. A part number or a photo would be helpful.

2) Think it sucks... then replace it with an after market one more to your liking. Problem solved.

3) comparing a 13 year old liner in an MDX to a current year CRV OEM liner is completely apples to oranges. Dated, not relevant, and besides.. the MDX was the top of the line Acura, not at all similar to a CRV, so they were always apples to oranges.

1. Just posted.
2. I suppose, but I paid for this one and bought OEM expecting a quality, good fitting product.
3. Actually, Honda and Acura share a lot of the same parts. That said, my point was that Honda clearly knows how to make a good one if it wanted to because they did it 13 years ago.

It's a standard Honda accessory. College Hills has them on sale now, and btw, they will fit all gen 5 models.

Nice design. I read the installation instructions and it looks straight forward and bullet proof.

So this takes care of protection for sliding cargo in and out with the seats down (y)

I personally have found that it is the two wheel well covers that take the most beating in the cargo hold. Been that way forever in CRVs... so I was well prepared to mitigate it in my gen5. Not that a few scrapes is any tragedy, but they do add up over time, so it means taking an extra step when loading the cargo area to make sure you are not dragging or pushing some object across those well covers.

The floor liner with sidewalls to prevent any liquid from easily getting past it is the biggest bang for the buck for a CRV cargo hold in my view.

It attaches to the back of the seat and might be 3/4-1" thick at most. The benefit I get from it is being able to slide something over the seatback w/o it grabbing the fuzzy seatback and getting it dirty. Also, much easier to slide in something all the way to the front seatback.

(y) I do the same.

The collapsible cargo storage boxes are solid gold for use in CRVs. They don't move around, and you can have one, or even add another if needed, and they are inexpensive and can be replaced at any time if they become damaged in any way.

I do have a cargo floor liner also, which if I am going to put the back seats down and haul large things I remove it, and then put down a large blanket (which also helps in some cases adjusting and moving said large things too.
