I got notice of two trouble=ing recall pertaining to 2023-2025 CR-V and other models.

There are no parts or repair procedures released yet and no timetable for any remedies. The fuel pump recall has language that states a fuel leak can lead to a fire and injuries.
The steering gear one states that loss of control can result in damage and injuries. The dealer is in the dark. I got a major run-a-round from HONDA customer service. Honda has issues a “stop sale” on affected units. I can only guess where the priorities will be when parts are available. I would want the “stop sale” units to get the first fixes, so that they can get sold.
The vehicle is at the dealer, I asked the serf=vice manager if he would be comfortable turning his family loose in a car that the manufacturer states may crash and burn. I understand that these are “worst case” scenarios. I’m just not willing to gamble on the lives of my family. HONDA won’t even tell me if my VIN is part of the recall units. The fuel pump recall covers approximately 700k units and the steering recall covers over 1.5 million units.
Am I overreacting?

Correct on HONDA and it's dealerships not giving a hoot. I have an underivable 2023 Honda CRV Hybred. I all but lost it on I95 last week. No recall ever hit my mail box UNTIL I had it towed to the dealer who I bought the car from. It's sitting there with a supposed fix for 12 February at 8AM. Strange a recall notice showed up in our mail box today the 26th of December. Gotta believe Santa dropped it off. Who knew the original steering problem began rolling out in 2023 about the time I purchased ours.
As for the possibility of becoming a fireball while driving my local Honda dealer simply said, "we DO NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THAT RECALL AND IF PARTS ARE NEEDED AT THIS TIME WE'RE IN THE DARK".
Guess there goes 35K on a true lemon……...
And on the unknown fire hazard caused on hybrid Honda models due to faulty battery connectors!

Your dealer is full of crap! The parts are available and the fix is well documented. Go to another dealer if you have that option.

I guess I was lucky with my recalls then. I wonder if the part availability varies by region? (I am in AZ) That said, the fuel pump recall starts with a sniff test that requires no parts.

Had both recalls looked at two weeks ago.
There are two Honda dealers near me that I called first(neither were where we purchased the car)and and where we purchased the car. All claimed no parts and would contact me when available. None have called as of this date.
Ended up taking it to a dealer two hours from me and was in and out within an hour. If you’re having trouble with parts availability, have you tried contacting other dealers near you?

I want to make a remark on the steering box recall.
My '23 did exhibit some “stickiness” with steering. Later, I saw a video of the repair and was astonished when I saw how much Honda grease was injected into the box. It seemed like a full tube and in what appeared to be a rather small box. I’m wondering now if this recall was for vehicles that had NO grease put into the steering box for whatever reason.
Any comments?

Can you post a link to the video?

I contacted most Honda dealers in NYC. None of them have the parts for the recall. One dealer in Brooklyn canceled my appointment due to a lack of parts, and another dealer in Brooklyn set up an appointment for February but didn't guarantee they would replace the parts. I guess they may do the gas inspection instead of replacing the parts. Some Honda dealers in Long Island told me they can inspect the fuel pump recall but can't fix it due to a lack of parts.

Scheduled an appt 3 weeks ahead of time to get both recalls done. When I got there the service writer said that they only get so many parts in for the recall. Now that I had shown up, he will notify parts to put me on a list. Once I get a call, then I can bring the car in. So call in before making an appt at my dealer Renton Honda. This was on 12/23/24.

Honda should have the recall parts in stock, I'm told it could be a year to get the part for my CRV. This is unacceptable. I always had a Chevrolet, and when a recall was done, they had the parts and it was not an issue.
Honda needs to step up and get the parts, this is ridiculous.

While I agree, I still have confidence in Honda esp if you don’t experience any of the symptoms of the sticky steering or smell/see any fuel leaks. If you experience any of those, then when you book the appointment with your dealer, they’ll prioritize you with the needed parts for the repair/replacement. They likely have the parts but are allocating them for those with existing issues vs those for the recall campaign.

I have my appointment booked next week and my dealer confirmed that they have the parts available.

So my appointment with the local Honda dealership to address the 2 recalls have been moved again as the parts never arrived. 2nd time now and may get moved again. This is becoming ridiculous…you get a letter about the recalls and to book the appointment with the dealership only to keep moving the goal post! Luckily, I haven’t been experiencing any of the issues…

Scheduled for the fuel pump recall a couple weeks ago, and at the time they still weren't able to schedule the gearbox fix. Brought it in and was pleasantly surprised that they were able to accomplish both recalls. Passed the sniffer test, and the gearbox had springs/seal replaced, and grease added. Glad it's finally out of the way.

After 2 mos of waiting for my selling dealer to call me to advise they received the parts for the EPS recall, I decided to call another dealer that is not far from me. Sure enough they said they have the parts in stock and had both recalls done today 2/22/25. I called this dealer on 2/19 and they say they have plenty in stock. Don't understand why my selling dealer says the parts are coming in slowly....unless they don't want to do a bunch of this wrrty work.

What did your dealer say when you told them another dealer had the parts? Talk to the general manager and ask him/her the question.

It sure makes you not want to buy from them again.
