Adjusting Parking Brake (and … Buying a Service Manual?)

While there IS a star wheel adjuster inside the center hub of the rear disc brake setup, the shoes should NOT suffer any significant wear unless someone drives with the parking brake on. We have adjusted our cable and brake shoes only ONCE (each) during our '06's 16-year, 190,000 mile ownership.

You DO have rear disc service brakes, not drums, right? (I ask because different markets got differing setups. EG '07 Fit/Jazz had rear drums in the USA but rear discs in other parts of the world)

Our method of adjustment for the star-wheel (which can be a $^*#@^^% to adjust through the plug ) is to remove the rotor, and adjust it so that it drags when the parking brake lever is raised two clicks, but free when fully released. It usually requires several tries, in my experience.
