Easiest way for me. Connect Iphone on Car Play. I called Verizon. (they have a long menu). While its playing adjust sound with knob. It worked for me and my 2022. It all works fine for me.

 

I did connect my iphone to carplay and I adjusted the volume on the radio, on my and on the actual map on the screen. The directions come up sequentially but I don’t hear the voice.

 

Try raising the volume with the steering wheel controls.

 

Ok. I will try that.

 

Not sure if your menu is like this, but you'll see there actually 4 individual volume settings.

 

I will look. How do you access that? I’m sorry I sound so dim but I have never had such difficulty accessing Apple Carplay. Oh and the people at the place where I got it are no help.

Here are two things that have fixed any CarPlay problems for me with my 2022 EXL:
1. Reboot your Your CRV display. Just hold button in until it ask if you want the reboot. I've had to do this 2 times since buying my 2022.
2. Replace your cord. It may look good but not really. Especially if your using the cheaper cords from Amazon. I recently had two bad ones from Amazon. Although I have had an old Apple cord go bad. I bought an expensive one from Apple. It's been a month now and no problems.
