Bluetooth issues with different phone....

When using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in my 2014 CRV EX-L bluetooth connection with the car worked fine with no issues. I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S8 and now bluetooth connection between both refuses to connect. I know the bluetooth on the phone is working because it communicates with my wrist watch. The S8 is up to date as I did an update as soon as I got it and now says the firmware is up to date. I even reset the audio system to factory defaults and tried establishing a bluetooth connection but that didn't help either. Anyone else encounter a similar issue and have suggestions they can share?? Thanks!!
It has the ability to connect to one or the other, not both at the same time. Blow the old phone out of the system and retry.

Mine was hanging on to my S-5 and baulked at the newer Samsung.

The phone it will log to via Bluetooth is which one it is set for. Both my Wife and I have phones but it logs to mine and my phonebook unless I set it to hers.
