I'm thinking of purchasing a CR-V made in 2018, 2019, or 2020, depending on the pricing.

I've been reading up on Honda's in general and CR-Vs specifically.

One thing that I'm not quite clear on is the prevalence of the parasitic battery drain and similar issues.

I've seen numerous posts on Reddit, various Honda forums, etc. about such issues where the battery seems to drain and the car won't start. Reliability is a key for me as I want a reliable car.

Does anyone have a sense of the prevalence of these issues? Is it something that may seem magnified as people who have problems tend to post more? Or relatively speaking, do CR-V have more issues with their batteries in general?

Does Honda have an issue with their electrical systems, etc. in general?

I really like the CR-V and think it is the model for me but would appreciate any thoughts on the battery issues and if some model years are better than others in that regard.

Thanks in advance!

I bought my ‘22 in November of ‘21 and still have the original battery with no issues whatsoever. Now, I did just have to get new fuel injectors at only 26,xxx miles and had the shaft seal replaced under warranty as well. If you’re going to buy I highly encourage you to buy and extended warranty.
