Crankshaft sensor fault - dealer says caused by aftermarket starter?????

Some mechanics or techs will see a woman and think she knows nothing about the inner workings of the vehicle. Then, they go about making up excuses for their failures. Other times, they just do not know what the issue is and are only guessing. If a starter was so bad that it would mess up the crank sensor then it would have destroyed most of the other electronic equipment in the vehicle. An intermittent fault would seem more to be a wiring issue. If you have service information then suggest looking at the schematics to see where it could be.
Good luck.

Note: If tech says this part is at fault or that part would fix it then ask how did they come to reach that conclusion. What tests did they make to determine it was such and such?
